Connect Starlit Post to ChatGPT
For now, Starlit is installed through ChatGPT’s Developer mode on the web. You do not need to write code. Setup takes about five minutes. A simpler public-app installation is coming after approval.
Connecting is free. You choose and pay for a plan only after the connection works.
You’ll need: ChatGPT web on a desktop, access to Developer mode, and about five minutes.

Turn on Developer mode
In ChatGPT web, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. If the option is unavailable, your plan or workspace may not allow custom apps yet.

Create the Starlit app connection
In Settings → Apps, choose Create. Name the app Starlit Post, paste the connection link in this step into the MCP Server URL field, and follow ChatGPT’s sign-in prompts.

Copy this link into your companion app.
Paste it into the Server URL or Connector URL field during setup. Do not paste it into the conversation itself.

Enable Starlit in the companion conversation
Return to the conversation where your companion already knows you. Choose the plus button → More, then select the Starlit app. You can also mention Starlit with @ if it appears in the app list.

Optional: share this note in your conversation.
This tells your companion that it may use Starlit naturally. You never need to name a tool or share private account details in chat.

Finish privately in Starlit
Continue after ChatGPT shows Starlit as connected. You’ll sign in, verify your address, and choose a plan on Starlit’s private pages.

Now complete the private steps.
Sign in, verify your delivery address, and choose a plan. Surprise sending is included automatically. Your companion never sees those private details.

Complete first-time installation on the web. Afterward, check whether the connected Starlit app appears in the mobile conversation before relying on it there.
